The government proposes to make an award to Illumina, Inc. to procure the Illumina Iseq, which will be used to validate the HIV-1 Drug Resistance Genotyping module produced by Thermo Fisher Scientific to produce structural sequencing data that will be used to survey many PEPFAR supported countries for Antiretroviral Therapy Drug Resistance. It is therefore imperative to receive this equipment to validate it for HIV Drug Resistance surveillance and build capacity and training for the platform in PEPFAR-supported countries. Its compatibility with the Illumina Miseq and its reagents and components make it unique for testing and evaluation. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, all quotations/responses received within three (3) days of the issuance of this notice will be considered by the government. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
