Intent to Sole Source – Nanostring Technologies, Inc. - Equipment and Supplies Notice ID: 2023-73556 The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), National Center for HIV, Viral Hepatitis, STD, and TB Prevention (NCHHSTP), Laboratory Branch, hereby announces its intent to issue an award a sole source, firm fixed-price purchase order to Nanostring Technologies, Inc., 530 Fairview Ave North, Suite 200, Seattle, WA, 98109, for the purchase of a GeoMx Digital Spatial Profiler Analysis Instrument. The statutory authority for this sole source acquisition is 10 U.S.C 2304(c)(1) in accordance with FAR Part 13.106-1(b) Simplified Acquisition Procedures only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy the agency requirement. The sole source procurement will be awarded as a simplified acquisition in accordance with FAR Part 12 and FAR Subpart 13 procedures. The NAICS code for this request is 334516, Laboratory Analytical Instruments Manufacturing. Nanostrings Technologies is the only source that can provide the GeoMx Digital Spatial Profiler Analysis Instrument deemed necessary by CDC for clinical studies, viral transmission, diagnosis and incidence, and to understand complex immuno-pathologies. After whole tissue sections, formalin fixed paraffin embedded tissue section parenthesis (FFPE), or fresh frozen tissue sections stained for RNA or protein of interest, the GeoMx Digital Spatial Profiler Analysis instrument can precisely select tissue compartments or cell types to profile based on different infection status in the tissue section and subsequently count expression levels using either gene expression profiling system or RNA sequencing Sequencer. THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTATIONS; however, all responses received within 15 days of the issuance of this notice will be reviewed by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Interested parties who believe they possess the capabilities to satisfy this requirement should submit a capability statement demonstrating their abilities to meet this requirement.
