CDC Influenza’s Division is responsible for the development of Candidate Vaccine Viruses based on circulating and novel influenza strains. Candidate Vaccine Viruses (CVVs) are reassortant viruses which are used as the starting materials for seasonal and pandemic vaccines. To facilitate the development of the CVVs, CDC uses oligonucleotides and synthetic genes to transcribe the influenza genes to produce the CVVs. The Influenza Division requires plasmids and linear DNA to be developed routinely based on the constant changes in the genetic make-up of the circulating and novel viruses. These changes are unpredictable and cannot be identified until the viruses are isolated from patients or infected animals. Overall objective is to provide the Influenza Division with custom rapid genetic products for the development of CVVs. CDC intends to issue a single contract award as a result of solicitation 75D301-23-R-72646. It is anticipated that the resulting contract will be a Firm Fixed Price, Contract. The period of performance will include one 12-month base year and four 12-month option periods, for a total period of performance of 60 months. The Request for Proposal (RFP) will be posted on SAM.gov on or about May 15, 2023. Any amendments issued to the solicitation will also be made at the same website.
