The Auxilio Mutuo Hospital is currently participating in a Dengue Branch Acute Febrile Illness enhanced surveillance project, where patients with fever presenting to the institution’s emergency room are offered recruitment to evaluate the cause of their febrile illness. This project seeks to establish a profile for Acute Febrile Illness in the area that Auxilio Mutuo Hospital serves. This includes COVID-19 cases and diagnosis. Dengue Branch has contractors based in the Hospital’s emergency room to recruit patients, but we need the hospital staff to collect the specimens for those who accept to participate. After specimens are collected, hospital staff will transport to the Laboratory where they will be stored and prepared for transport to Dengue Branch by contractor staff. These procedures take place in the hospital, therefore is the only place that provides the services we need to conduct this project. This is a continuation of a current contract. 715 Ave. Ponce de Leon Pda.371/2 Puerto Rico 00918 This contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b) and 41 U.S.C. 3304(a)(1). Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
