The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) 1600 Clifton Road NE, Atlanta Georiga, intends to award a sole source, firm fixed price contract to EMD MILLIPORE CORPORATION for aBioTek Elx405TSRSMML magnetic/vacuum plate washer.CDC/CGH requires 3 magnetic/vacuum plate washers to support serologic malaria-SARS-CoV2 interaction studies. The existing serology analyzers in use in CGH laboratories are optimized to pair with BioTek Elx405TSRSMML magnetic/vacuum plate washers; in current use are two analyzers and one BioTek plate washer. While experiencing a rapid increase in the number of specimens to be analyzed, more plate washers are required to meet the demand capacity. Brand name BioTek Elx405TSRSMML instruments are required to maintain continuity of laboratory assays. This contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b) (SAP) and 41 U.S.C. 3304(a)(1). Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals; however, all responses received within seven (7) days of the issuance of this notice will be considered by the government. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
