The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Office of Acquisitions, intend to award a sole source purchase order in accordance with FAR Part 13.106-1(b)(1), to Illumina 12212 Technology Blvd, Austin TX 78727 to purchase Laboratory supplies MagPlex-C Microspheres regions 012, 013, 014, 015, and 018 - 028 for Multiplex research. These microspheres have been validated and meets the requirements of ongoing Multiplex assay research and development for HIV incidence surveillance. The reagent has already been incorporated into the laboratory protocol; substitution would alter research outcomes. Luminex is the only manufacturer of the MagPlex-C Microspheres that can be used with the Magpix instrument. Therefore, it is not in the best interest of the Government to use a different vendor as Luminex is the sole manufacturer of this technology . No Request for Quotation will be issued based upon this notice of intent. This synopsis ends in 5 days in accordance with FAR 5.203 (a)(1). Any interested companies are welcome to submit their ability to provide the specified products via email to the Contract Specialist, Saulat Rehan (CTR), at qaz7@cdc.gov. Please include reference number (2021-56482) and respond by July 27, 2021 at 3 PM EST. Responses received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement is solely within the discretion of the Government.
