The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Office of the Chief Information Officer, 1600 Clifton Road, Atlanta, GA 30222, hereby announces its intent to issue a sole source contract in accordance with FAR 6.302-1 to The Institute for Applined Network Security, 2 Center Plaza, Suite 500 Boston, MA 02108, to acquire a Team Decision Support Subscription. The statutory authority permitting other than full and open competition is 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1) as cited in FAR 6.302-1, "Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements." IANS is the sole provider of the Team Decision Support Community. This subscription service affords CDC up-to-date IT security insights and decision support from practitioners throughout the IT security, risk management, and compliance communities. This subscirption will directly address the following challenges experienced within CDC: 1) Shortage of highly experienced information securty professionals, 2) threat landscape that is always changing while attack sophistication is escalating, and 3) unforeseen incidents taking priority over strategic initiatives. Responsible sources that believe they possess the expertise and capabilities identified above are encouraged to submit to the Contracting Officer within 10 days from the posting date of this notice, their written capabilities statement, proposal or quotation which shall be considered by the agency. Information received in response to this announcement will be used solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. If no affirmative responses are received within 10 days, negotiations will be conducted with the IANS., as the only source and a contract will be issued without any additional notices being posted.
