The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) intends to award a sole source, firm-fixed-price purchase order to Guralp Systems Limited for the procurement of three Guralp Certimus Seismic Sensor Stations to include a Certimus Accessory Pack, Surface Storage Module, Portable Power Module and PPM Accessory Pack. The Certimus Seisic Sensor Stations is the only one that meets the CDC's requirements: designed for direct burial rather than requiring a surface mount, which requires a robust design and high tilt tolerances; has very low power requirements in order to reduce the number of batteries/solar panels required to run the station (less than 0.5 Watts); supports sampling rates of at least 250 Hz for surface applications, 1000 Hz for underground applications; supports precision time protocol or network time protocol for deployment underground; has a flat frequency response of at least from 0.1 to 100 Hz; and records three orthogonal components for source inversion . This contract action is for supplies for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b) and 41 U.S.C. 3304(a)(1). Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, all responses received within three (3) days of the issuance of this notice will be considered by the government. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Any quotation/response should be emailed to Adam Lorimer, Contracting Officer, at oga5@cdc.gov.
