The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) intends to award a sole source fixed price modification to extend the current period of performance of the final period of contract 200-2014-61127. Additional time of six months is needed due to the amount of time it will take for pending claims to be resolved from initial notification to the New York State Worker’s Compensation Board’s insurers to the transfer of funds to the World Trade Center Health Program (WTCHP). The WTCHP was unprepared for the time lapse to complete pending claims that had already been sent to the contractor. No new claims have been sent to the contractor since October 31, 2019, in anticipation of the contract ending. The modification only adds time to allow resolution of claims submitted prior to October 31, 2019. This contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302-1 and 41 U.S.C. 3304(a)(1). Integriguard is the only responsible source capable of continuing to provide these services to WTCHP. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, all quotations/responses received within fifteen (15) days of the issuance of this notice will be considered by the government. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
