The following notice is posted as required by Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 5.201. The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) intends to solicit on the basis of Other Than Full and Open Competition, pursuant to Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-3(a)(2)(ii) in order to maintain an ongoing research capability with the Pennsylvania State University. This notice is not a request for proposal or solicitation. The attached Statement of Work entitled "Characterization of the environmental microbiota composition and the presence of Listeria monocytogenes in commercial tree fruit packinghouses" details the scope of the ongoing effort with the Pennsylvania State University. Notwithstanding the Government's intent to enter into sole source negotiations with the Pennsylvania State University, other responsible sources may at any time before the closing date of this notice submit a bid, proposal, or quotation which shall be considered by the agency, however, the Government shall not be responsible for any costs related to responses to this notice. Responses may be sent to the FDA point of contact identified in this notice.
