The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) hereby issues a notice of intent in accordance with FAR 5.201. Pursuant to FAR 6.302-1, FDA will sole source with Risk Sciences International, 55 Metcalfe Street, Suite 700, Ottawa, ON K1P 6L5, Canada for management and technical activities for continued system enhancements and operations and maintenance (O&M) of the FDA-iRISK capability. The FDA-iRISK capability includes the web accessible public version, called FDA-iRISK 1.0 as well as the FDA-iRISK institutional version. FDA-iRISK®, a new system for modeling food-safety risks and solutions, was a finalist in round 6 of the HHSinnovates program. Since then, it has been granted a registered trademark and has been further developed through a five (5) year contract. Further development is necessary to advance FDA-iRISK to the next level. This new five (5) Year IDIQ provides further services for development of new features in FDA-iRISK to enhance user access, data encryption, and linkage with external resources, as well as to obtain further services for FDA-iRISK system lifecycle support operations and maintenance (O&M). Implementing this contract will allow FDA’s Center for Food Safety and Applied Nutrition (CFSAN) to continue to maintain the capability of FDA-iRISK in a continued state of readiness, ensuring its availability and usability to current and new users as a risk assessment tool for FDA regulatory and research purposes and for use by stakeholders in the scientific community, and to support FDA collaboration with other organizations using the FDA-iRISK system.
