The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention intends to award a sole source firm fixed price purchase order to the National Council for Prescription Drug Programs (NCPDP), Inc. for access to the NCPDP HCIdea v4.0 data system. TheNCPDP’s HCIdea data provides the most recent and most accurate information on prescribers in the U.S. by leveraging more than 2,000 different data sources. It will allow us to link all the prescriber information such as demographics, specialty, location, and DATA waiver status to our opioid and benzodiazepines prescribing data. It will allow us to study dentists, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants in addition to MDs. HCIdea also contains Type I (individual) and Type II* (practicing locations) prescribers which will allow us to study clustering of prescribers as well as affiliation of nurse practitioners and physician assistants. This contract action is for services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b) (SAP) and 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1). Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, all quotations/responses received within Thirty (30) days of the issuance of this notice will be considered by the government. A determination by thegovernment not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretionof the government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.)
