The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) National Center for Envuronmental Health(NCEH) /Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry (atsdr) intends to award a sole source requirement, firm-fixed price purchase order for IBM/Weather Channel mobile weather application that is an off-the-shelf turnkey mobile weather app that incorporates the ability to brand the application as a CDC/ATSDR product, create and deliver customized weather alerts, and deliver rich media assets such as video, audio, and images that will provide additional guidance and information about current weather conditions. Updates to the app code to maintain currency with operating systems and security issues is handled by IBM/Weather Channel as part of the licensing agreement, which minimizes NCEH/ATSDR long-term rsource requirements to maintain the app. The Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b) (SAP) and 41 U.S.C. 3304(a)(1). This notice of intent is NOT a request for competitive quotations. An official solicitation will be posted at a future date. However, firms that believe they can meet the requirement are welcome to identify themselves and provide a substantive statement with descriptive literature and any other supporting information within ten (10) days of issuance of this notice to be considered by the government. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed purchase order based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
