The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) National Center for Envuronmental Health(NCEH) Division of Laboratory Sciences (DLS) intends to award a brand name requirement, firm-fixed price purchase order for E Biotage TurboVap LV and TurboVap II evaporization systems. The Biotage TurboVap evaporization systems use a combination of a programmable heating bath and stream of inert gas, such as nitrogen, to increase the speed of solvent evaporization in various sample preparation procedures. This method of evaporization is the only one suitable for selectively evaporating organic solvents while not evaporating the volatile persistent organic pollutants measured by the Persistent Organic Pollutants Laboratory. The Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1 (b) and 41 U.S.C. 3304(a)(1). This notice of intent is NOT a request for competitive quotations. An official solicitation will be posted at a future date. However, firms that believe they can meet the requirement are welcome to identify themselves and provide a substantive statement with descriptive literature and any other supporting information within ten (10) days of issuance of this notice to be considered by the government. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed purchase order based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
