The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Office of Acquisition Services (OAS) intends to award a brand namel, sole source requirement, firm-fixed price purchase order for IS-T01D-DuoESI Source to Newomics Inc. The purchase order it to acquire an electrospray ionization (ESI) source that will increase ionization efficiency and, thus, method sensitivity for a top-down mass spectrometry (MS)-based method. The source will need to couple to an existing Thermo Scientific Altis instrument. The use of an ESI source to increase method sensitivity will allow for accurate and reproducible measurements of circulating PTH (parathyroid hormone), as well as PTH peptide fragments, in human serum samples. This contract action is for supplies for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 8.405-6 and 41 U.S.C. 3304(a)(1). This notice of intent is NOT a request for competitive quotations. An official solicitation will be posted at a future date. However, firms that believe they can meet the requirement are welcome to identify themselves and provide a substantive statement with descriptive literature and any other supporting information within six (6) days of issuance of this notice to be considered by the government. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed purchase order based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
