The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) National Center for Envuronmental Health(NCEH) Division of Laboratory Sciences (DLS) intends to award a brand name requirement, firm-fixed price purchase order for ThermoFisher Scientifice Dynabeads Strepavidin-coated M-280. These are magnetic coated beads which are used for isolation of botulinum neurotoxin from clinical samples. All data obtained to date over the past 10 years has been obtained with these beads and to change the type of beads would invalidate experiments and data, for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1 (b) and 41 U.S.C. 3304(a)(1). This notice of intent is NOT a request for competitive quotations. An official solicitation will be posted at a future date. However, firms that believe they can meet the requirement are welcome to identify themselves and provide a substantive statement with descriptive literature and any other supporting information within ten (10) days of issuance of this notice to be considered by the government. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed purchase order based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
