The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention intends to award a sole source firm fixed price purchase order to BaChem Americas, Inc. to obtain phosphorylated and oxidized parathyroid hormone (PTH) synthetic proteins as well as thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH) synthetic proteins (e.g., alpha and beta isoform 1 and 2) standards to support of the activities for the CDC’s Clinical Standardization Programs, PATH, and the Division of Laboratory Sciences Service Laboratory. BaChem has the ability to generate synthetic phosphorylated and oxidized forms of PTH with a high purity (greater than 80%), which are compatible with our mass spectrometric method. While recombinant materials for TSH are commercially available for the TSH beta isoform, these materials are not traceable to SI units and do not include the TSH alpha isoform. BaChem has the ability to generate synthetic TSH proteins for the alpha and beta isoforms with a high purity (greater than 90%), which are compatible with our mass spectrometric method. This contract action is for supplies for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b) (SAP) and 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1). Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, all quotations/responses received within ten (10) days of the issuance of this notice will be considered by the government. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
