The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention intends to award a sole source firm fixed price purchase order to Biotage, Llc. Justification of the capability required is provided on the sole source justification document. This contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b) (SAP) and 41 U.S.C. 3304(a)(1). This requirement is to procure 1 (one) SPE Dry 96 Dual Sample Concentrator System for the direct usage in solvent evaporation as part of the sample preparation procedures in analyzing steroid hormones from the NHANES study as part of biomonitoring activities within the Protein Biomarkers laboratory of the Clinical Chemistry Branch due to spacing issues and cross contamination issues. This unit is relatively small compared to other units tested and due to its design and cleaning features is less likely for cross-contamination. This notice of intent is NOT a request for competitive quotations. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
