This is a notice of intent to sole source. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)1600 Clifton Road NE, Atlanta Georiga 30341 intends to sole source; in accordance with FAR 13.106-1(b) (SAP) and 41 U.S.C. 3304(a)(1). The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has the intent to award a sole source firm fixed price service contract to Luminex Corporation Austin, TX. The North American Industry Classification System code is 325413 . Product Service Code 6640. The purpose of this procurement is to purchase the Luminex system which immobilizes beads in an assay plate with magnetic force, excites them with LEDs and detects the beds and analytes using a CCD camera that converts light to an electronic signal. This system is needed for the adaptation, validation and troubleshooting of assays used in-house and by overseas partner laboratories.. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals; however, all responses received within three (3) days of the issuance of this notice will be considered by the government. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
