The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) National Center for Envuronmental Health(NCEH) Division of Laboratory Sciences (DLS) intends to award a sole source requirement, firm-fixed price purchase order for IntelliXcap Automated Screw Cap Decapper, 48-format and its associated cartridge, fully automated equipment that can decap and recap various types of sample storage tubes directly from a cryovial box. Purchase of this equipment is needed as the method currently can perform up to 144 samples at a time in less than 30 minutes. The purchase of these items are is critical to optimize the throughput of the creatinine LC-MS/MS method during sample preparation procedures, for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b) (SAP) and 41 U.S.C. 3304(a)(1). This notice of intent is NOT a request for competitive quotations. An official solicitation will be posted at a future date. However, firms that believe they can meet the requirement are welcome to identify themselves and provide a substantive statement with descriptive literature and any other supporting information within ten (10) days of issuance of this notice to be considered by the government. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed purchase order based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
