The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) National Center for Envuronmental Health (NCEH) Division of Laboratory Sciences (DLS) intends to award a brand name sole source requirement, firm-fixed price purchase order for Roche Cobas sample preparation reagents. Justification of the capability required is provided on the sole source justification document attached. The purchase of these brand-name chemical reagents are needed for the direct usage on the Roche Cobas e411 clinical chemistry analyzer for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b) (SAP) and 41 U.S.C. 3304(a)(1). This notice of intent is NOT a request for competitive quotations. An official solicitation will be posted at a future date. However, firms that believe they can meet the requirement are welcome to identify themselves and provide a substantive statement with descriptive literature and any other supporting information within ten (10) days of issuance of this notice to be considered by the government. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed purchase order based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
