NOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention intends to award a sole source firm fixed price purchase order to AB Sciex, LLC for a maintenance agreement for AB Sciex Labortory Equipment. This laboratory maintenance agreement will keep all instruments running optimally and ensure timely repairs while eliminating costly repairs due to damaged or malfunctioning equipment, The work to be performed consists of telephonic support, on-site repairs by qualified engineers, priority response time, and coverage of all parts and travel to CDC. This contract covers over hundreds of instruments and instrument components that comprise over 140 Sciex analytic systems that are no longer covered by warranties and are utilized by the CDC/NCEH/Division of Laboratory Sciences. The equipment that will be covered on this contract must be serviced by the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) which is the only source with the capability to provide all of the government requirements. This contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302-1 and 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1). Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, all quotations/responses received within fifteen (15) days of the issuance of this notice will be considered by the government. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
