The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention intends to award a sole source firm fixed price purchase order to Spark Holland, Inc. for a service agreement for preventative and remedial maintenance of the iChrom Solutions Symbiosis SPE system (a solid phase extraction (SPE) unit and an autosampler) that are no longer covered by warranties and are utilized by the CDC/NCEH/Division of Laboratory Sciences. Such agreement will keep all instruments running optimally and ensure timely repairs while eliminating costly repairs due to damaged or malfunctioning equipment. Chrom Solutions Inc. is the only North American distributor and OEM authorized service provider for Spark Holland equipment. Further iChrome Solultions is the only vendor that has OEM certified service engineers for Spark Holland equipment. The Spark Holland equipment is highly complex, and it is essential that the systems are repaired and maintained by a OEM certified engineer. iChrome Solutions is the only vendor that is able to update Spark Holland equipment software with proprietary software updates and patches to ensure the equipment and software updated. Finally, iChrome Solutions is also the only North American company able to provide certified replacement parts and cartridges needed to ensure validity of the analytical results because of the complexity of the serum matrix. This contract action is for services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b) (SAP) and 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1). Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, all quotations/responses received within Thirty (30) days of the issuance of this notice will be considered by the government. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
