The Contractor Laboratory shall provide chemical analytical services to Brookhaven National Laboratory (BNL) These specifications provide a general description of work requirements for analytical services in support of activities at BNL. The scope of analyses required is limited to wastewater and groundwater samples for the following analytes using either Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) or BNL approved methods: • Hydroxyethylidene Diphosphonic Acid (HEDP) – wastewater only • Tolyltriazole (TTA) – wastewater and groundwater • Polypropylene Glycol Monobutyl Ether (PPGMBE) – wastewater The Contractor Laboratory shall provide all required sample containers (precleaned) including, but not limited to, sample labels, chain-of-custody seals, preservatives, trip blanks, plastic-covered ice packs, and coolers at least one week prior to the scheduled sampling dates. HEDP: Two (2) samples collected monthly from the Sewage Treatment Plant effluent and six (6) samples collected quarterly for a total of 48 analyses per year. Analysis shall be specific to HEDP and includes collection of field blanks. TTA: Two (2) samples collected monthly from the Sewage Treatment Plant effluent and six (6) samples collected quarterly for a total of 48 samples per year. An additional Fifty (50) samples collected for site investigation. Analysis shall be specific to TTA and includes collection of field blanks. PGMBE: One (1) sample collected quarterly for a total of 4 samples per year. Analysis shall be specific to PGMBE.
