***** This is a REQUEST FOR INTEREST ONLY! This request does not constitute a request for proposal, request for quote, or invitation for bid. The intent of this request is to identify potential offerors for market research purposes only. ***** Request for Information (RFI) Revised 3/23/23 to change Response due date. Savannah River Nuclear Solutions, LLC (SRNS), which manages and operates portions of the Savannah River Site (SRS) under a Department of Energy (DOE) prime contract, solicits expressions of interest from potential suppliers with the experience and capability to repair and certify cryogenic liquid cylinder devices. This RFI is issued to assist with finding potential suppliers interested in this solicitation. SRNS seeks the following services: Provide transportation of devices and their inspection, repair and testing services for Savannah River Nuclear Solutions (SRNS) cryogenic liquid cylinders (dewars) according to manufacturer’s specifications. Subcontractor shall provide all material and labor necessary to evaluate, repair, and test the cylinders. Repair shall include the following tasks: 1. Vacuum: Mass spec and then evacuate for 72 hours (pull vacuum to 2 microns or less). 2. Top works: Remove all parts. Test all safety devices and regulators. Replace parts if necessary. Clean and polish parts that are reusable. 3. Performance: Cylinder is filled with liquid nitrogen for testing to assure cylinder is functioning properly. Cylinder shall meet the Normal Evaporation Rate (NER) in the original manufacturer's specifications. 4. Appearance: Blast and paint carbon steel cylinders. Polish and buff stainless-steel cylinders. Nameplates and SRNS specific labels shall not be cleaned from the dewars. 5. Quality Assurance: Perform final Quality Control check and sign off on each cylinder prior to return shipment. Provide proof of quality control via documentation. 6. Certification: Provide certification that repairs and testing are sufficient to meet the DOT criteria as found at “49 CFR 180.211 Repair, rebuilding and reheat treatment of DOT-4 series specification cylinders” A supplier's response to the RFI does not guarantee they will be selected to participate in the RFP. Suppliers responding to this RFI shall include evidence of the following: Past performance/personnel qualifications Facility to perform repair, repair location Standard turn-around time Template of post-repair certificate E-mail response addressing Items 1 through 4 above shall be submitted by 5:00 p.m. est. on March 31, 2023 to Barbara McCarty at barbara.mccarty@srs.gov.
