SLAC seeks vendors that can provide One (1) Each of a qRIXS Spectrometer Arm Synopsis as described below: This posting describes a high level synopsis of the qRIXS Spectrometer Arm, part of the high-resolution qRIXS instrument, which shall be installed on the NEH 2.2 beamline. The qRIXS endstation consists of a sample chamber, in-vacuum sample manipulator, and a spectrometer arm which extends from the sample chamber to a detector approximately 6 meters away. The qRIXS spectrometer works in the horizontal scattering geometry. The x-ray spot on the sample in the sample chamber acts as the source for the Spectrometer arm. The scattered beam is horizontally collimated with a parabolic mirror, while in the vertical direction it is focused and spectrally dispersed by a spherical VLS grating – both mirror and grating are mounted within an optics chamber. The beam is deflected downwards by the grating and the focused beam is imaged with a 2D position sensitive detector. The detector travels vertically and radially to follow the trajectory of the focal curve of the spectrometer, and rotates around the horizontal pitch axis to ensure proper angular orientation. A conceptual design of the qRIXS Spectrometer is shown in the attached figure labeled as "EXHIBIT A." THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR QUOTE. VENDORS INTERESTED IN BEING CONSIDERED AS A POTENTIAL SOURCE SHOULD IDENTIFY THEMSELVES AS AN "INTERESTED PARTY" VIA THE BETA.SAM.GOV INTERESTED PARTY PORTAL OR BY CONTACTING THE SUBCONTRACT ADMINISTRATOR VIA E-MAIL AT LLADAO@SLAC.STANFORD.EDU.
