The purpose of this solicitation is to define the work required to provide a proof of concept Storage Ring (SR) “Hard Bend” permanent magnet dipole bending (HBEND) magnet, in support of the Advanced Light Source Upgrade (ALS-U) project at Lawrence Berkeley Laboratory (LBNL). The SR is a circular electron-synchrotron storage-ring that will function as a new 4th generation diffraction limited light source providing x-ray source point radiation up to 1000 times brighter than the existing ALS storage ring. The final compliment of SR magnets will be installed into 12 circular arc sections to define the circular particle accelerator.
