Hoisting & Rigging Equipment Support Services

Notice ID:RFP_26-081JR

Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory (PPPL) seeks a subcontractor to perform periodic inspections, remedial/corrective maintenance, and manufacturer-recommended routine maintenance on its cranes at PPPL, with PPPL personnel handling much routine inspection work but the subcontractor called upon during peak workloads or large repairs. All work must follow manufacturer specifications and procedures unless otherwise agreed in writing, and after maintenance the subcontractor must thoroughly check equipment function, including safety features and interlocks. The subcontractor may also advise on crane upgrades and performance enhancements; several large cranes (Items 3, 13, 33, 34) have Catron/Electromotive radio remote controls and Variable Frequency Drives, so familiarity and qualification with these cranes and control systems is mandatory. Membership in the Crane Manufacturers Association of America (CMAA) is highly desirable, and PPPL does not guarantee minimum work and may use other sources for these tasks. A mandatory preproposal Zoom meeting is scheduled for 1:30 PM on 8 Oct 2026, with invitations sent only to firms that complete and submit an RFP acknowledgement form.
