Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory (PPPL) a National Laboratory and Federally Funded Research and Development Center RDC) operated by The Trustees of Princeton University, a US Department of Energy Prime Contractor wishes to solicit proposals in response to Request for Proposal (RFP) 21-006C for Construction Manager/General Contractor (CM/GC) Services for the construction of the Princeton Plasma Innovation Center (PPIC) at Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory located at 100 Stellarator Road, James Forrestal Campus, US Route 1 North, Plainsboro, NJ. PPPL is initiating a project for a multi-use facility including small/medium bay labs, a collaboration center and office space called the Princeton Plasma Innovation Center (PPIC). The proposed new building will consist of multiple stories and provide between 77,500 – 107,000 gross square feet (GSF) of multi-purpose facility. The conceptual design target was ~85,000 GSF. This multi-story building will include small and medium bay labs, collaboration space, conference rooms and offices for approximately 190 -233 personnel. The scope of work consists of three phases: Phase 1 (Base Requirement) - The Subcontractor will provide Construction Management (CM) Pre-construction Services in cooperation and collaboration with the PPIC Project Team and the Architect-Engineer Subcontractor. Phase 2 (Option 1) - Site preparation including demolition of Building 23, partial demolition of Building 13, and site utility installation. Phase 3 (Option 2) - Construction of the PPIC office and laboratory building. See attached draft of the PPPL Statement of Work for further details. The estimated magnitude of this project between $50 million to $75 million inclusive of the option items. The period of performance is Phase 1 – October 2022 through December 2023, Phase 2 – September 2023 through July 2024 and Phase 3 – April 2024 through April 2026. Firms must return the RFP Acknowledgement Form contained in the RFP to receive information to the Zoom information. Attendance of both the Pre-Proposal Videoconference and Site Visit is pre-requisite for proposal submission. Proposals are due to PPPL by 4:00 PM (EST), Friday, May 6, 2022. This announcement shall not commit PPPL to issue a subcontract for this effort, or to pay any costs incurred by offerors in the preparation and submittal of proposals in response to this RFP.
