Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory (PPPL), a National Laboratory and Federally Funded Research and Development Center (FFRDC), operated by Princeton University under contract to the United States Department of Energy, wishes to obtain expressions of interest from qualified and experienced sources capable of providing toroidal field (TF) conductor assemblies that it will incorporate in its Toroidal Field (TF)/Ohmic Heating (OH) Magnet Bundle for the National Spherical Torus Experiment (NSTX) Upgrade Recovery Project. The specifications for manufacture, inspection, testing and delivery of the assemblies have not been finalized, however, pertinent information needed to respond to this market inquiry is provided by PPPLs TF Conductor Assembly Overview (attached). If you believe your firm can fabricate the TF conductor assemblies as described, and is interested in this potential procurement, you are requested to submit the following information via email to the PPPL point of contact for this notice: 1. Brief Description of Company – A brief description of your firm’s history and organization and a description of your facilities, products, services, and customers. 2. Capabilities and Qualifications Information – Statement addressing your firm’s capabilities and qualifications to manufacture the conductors. 3. Past Performance Information – A list of references for similar conductor manufacturing projects to include: The location and address of the completed projects. The client, the client's Project Manager's name, current telephone number and email address. The monetary value of the completed project. Brief project description with sufficient information to demonstrate similarity with the attached TF conductor overview which must include 1) experience in working with the materials of construction, and 2) with direct and/or through sub-tier contractors, demonstrated experience in welding these materials of construction with a fully qualified friction stir welding technique. 4. Quality Assurance (QA) - A concise summary of your firms QA Program used to assure that products meet the required level of quality and is performed in accordance with customer requirements. This SOURCES SOUGHT notice is for informational and planning purposes only and shall not be construed as a solicitation or as an obligation or commitment by PPPL. This notice is intended strictly for market research. This is NOT a solicitation for proposals, proposal abstracts, or quotations. No solicitation exists at this time. The purpose of this notice is to obtain information regarding the availability and capacity of qualified sources that can perform the required work. Please be advised that PPPL will not reimburse parties for any costs incurred in responding to this request. Expressions of interest are due to the PPPL Procurement Specialist, Khalif Stripling by 4:00 PM (Eastern Time), December 9, 2021. Should PPPL proceed with issuance of a Request for Proposal (RFP) for this requirement, all qualified and capable parties responding to this notice will be notified of RFP availability.
