NREL is in search of a centralized platform solution to efficiently and effectively govern information generated and stored in existing systems. This solution cannot add additional burden on individual workers such as requiring workers to move or transfer files upon completion, or add metadata, that they do not currently perform. The solution will alleviate the burden of managing information from NREL workers through automated processes such as autoclassification, automated transfer, and automated disposition workflows. The solution must be able to provide a flexible interface that can connect the largely varied and unique APIs in disparate systems through a single view. NREL is interested in understanding the capabilities of solutions where electronic information is managed in place through a federated information approach or other methods. The information received in response to this RFI will guide NREL’s focus for writing a requirements document to meet our overall objective which, at a high level, is to acquire and implement a solution or set of solutions to centrally manage electronic information contained in a wide range of existing systems in an efficient, automated, and compliant manner. 8/22/23: Updated response date to 8/29/23.
