E-Waste Collection Events
Battelle Energy Alliance LLC (BEA), managing Idaho National Laboratory for DOE, seeks Expressions of Interest from qualified recyclers to organize residential e-waste collection events in nonregulated states to support a DOE project comparing battery-containing device collection strategies. Eligible performance areas include Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Idaho (excluding eastern and southeastern regions), Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Mississippi, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Mexico, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota, Tennessee, and Wyoming. The service is expected to run through Sept. 30, 2027, with respondents capable of organizing six to nine events, each participating organization conducting at least two to three events before September 2027 and providing a collection plan by Sept. 1, 2027. Services include compiling existing collection data, advertising events, reporting participant and e-waste quantities by type, arranging downstream transport/recycling/processing, and documenting relevant certifications and local nonprofit or governmental partnerships. This EOI is the first step to identify qualified vendors for possible invitation to a future Request for Proposal process.
