Solid State 352-MHz/200kW RF Power Amplifier The Advanced Photon Source is considering procurement of thirteen 352-MHz/200kW cw solid state rf power amplifier systems to supply power to a synchrotron light source electron accelerator. Delivery of the first unit is anticipated to be no later than June 2021. Basic system specifications are shown below: Operating frequency: 352MHz RF power output: 200kW cw maximum RF Input for full power output: +2.5dBm RF power output bandwidth. 0.1dB: +/- 1MHz from center frequency Operating class: AB linear Output devices: LDMOS Design: user-serviceable modular amplifiers, utilizing high-efficiency rf combining techniques to achieve 200kW output power. System is to have sufficient redundant power capacity to allow continuous full power output with 10% of modules in failed state. Harmonic output = < -40dBc at 200kW output power Spurious output: < -60dBc at 200kW output power, 352MHz +/- 10MHz RF phase variation over 10-90% output power: 5 degrees maximum Maximum group delay over bandwidth: 50ns RF output flange: WR2300 waveguide Efficiency, AC line to RF output: 55% minimum Cooling: Deionized water, supplied at 90°F temperature, 120psi pressure, in contact with copper or stainless steel only. Heat loss to air limited to 5kw. Single AC power input: 480 volts AC/60Hz/3-phase/4-wire Internal control and monitor electronics: Provides amplifier and module-level protection interlocks, and performance and fault tracking. Provides local control/monitor and control capability, and Ethernet connectivity to communicate with external computer network in EPICS protocol. 2 Physical size: 12 feet wide, 7 feet deep, 7 feet tall.
