Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory is conducting market research to identify potential sources that can supply a crystallography beamline pixel-array detector. Synchrotron beamline 4.2.2 at the Advanced Light Source (ALS) is dedicated to macromolecular crystallography for the acquisition of diffraction data from crystals of biological materials. This beamline is currently equipped with a CMOS-based x-ray detector. Better technology to substantially improve the quality of diffraction data can now be obtained using pixel-array x-ray detectors. Details of the requirements and instructions for responding are in the attched RFI document. Visit https://als.lbl.gov/ for more information about the Advanced Light Source.
