The University of California, Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory's Molecular Foundry is conducting market research to identify sources that possess the capabilities and experience necessary to supply Focused Ion Beam (FIB) and Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) instruments. The Molecular Foundry is a Department of Energy-funded nanoscience research facility that provides users from around the world with access to cutting-edge expertise and instrumentation in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment. It is open to any interested researcher through a competitive peer-reviewed proposal process, free of charge for users who intend to publish their results. Visit https://foundry.lbl.gov/ for more information about the Foundry’s mission, expertise, and instrumentation. Funding has been made available for the acquisition of several new FIB and SEM instruments to expand the Foundry’s technical capabilities and user offerings, and one or more RFPs will be published later this year to begin those acquisitions. Please review the attachment for preliminary specifications and instructions for responding to this Request for Information.
