Lawrence Livermore National Security, LLC (hereinafter called “LLNS”) is seeking sources for the performance of design, engineering, and construction services for a new single story wet chemistry laboratory building totaling approximately 12,000 square feet for mission critical wet laboratory and cleanroom space with additional 1,500 square feet of support space and additional approximately 1000 square feet rooftop penthouse to house noisy laboratory support equipment (vacuum pumps and process chillers) away from the laboratories they support. The building structural system must be steel columns and beams with load-bearing exterior walls of steel stud, pre-cast or tilt-up concrete. Use of pre-engineered steel building systems is not acceptable, due to the difficulty of making future modifications. Finishes and installed systems must be designed with future maintenance, cleanability and adaptability in mind. Both wet lab and class 1000 cleanroom areas require single-pass, 100% outside air and commensurate exhaust systems with a requirement to maintain temperature inside the labs and cleanrooms at 72 degrees F +/- 2 degrees F year-round. N+1 redundancy is required for all air-moving systems for the project so as to maintain critical room-to-room pressure relationships that will be defined in the scope of work. Only contractors that have considerable expertise and experience in similar design and build wet chemical laboratories and who possess the necessary contractor qualifications (see attached prequalification invitation) will be considered.
