The upgraded ALS will incorporate an Accumulator Ring (AR). The AR is a circular electron-synchrotron storage-ring that accumulates charge for injection/extraction from the main upgraded ALS storage ring (SR). The AR magnets will be placed into 12 arc magnet bending sections to define the circular particle accelerator. The scope of the Accumulator Ring magnet assemblies is described in this document. The ALS-U Project intends to procure sufficient magnets to construct the accumulator ring, contingency magnets, and required replacement components.
