Cobalt iron is a metal alloy that is well suited for use in magnetic applications. This acquisition is for cobalt iron blanks that will comprise the pole bodies of all central arc section dipole magnets within the Advanced Light Source (ALS) Storage Ring (SR), which are being replaced as part of the Advance Light Source Upgrade (ALS-U) project. This solicitation will be at the discretion of Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory to fulfill this requirement. Please see all documentation included herein.
