The Contractor shall provide technical support to the DOE Transportation Emergency Preparedness Program (TEPP). Within the DOE Office of Environmental Management, the Office of Packaging and Transportation implements the complex-wide TEPP to address preparedness issues for shipments of DOE radiological material and waste. As an element of the DOE Comprehensive Emergency Management System, TEPP provides support to Federal, state, tribal, and local authorities to prepare for a response to a transportation incident/accident involving shipments of DOE radiological material. TEPP, by integrating transportation and emergency preparedness activities, takes a coordinated approach to addressing the emergency response concerns of state, tribal, and local officials affected by DOE shipments. TEPP also ensures responders have access to model plans and procedures, training, and technical assistance necessary to prepare and respond safely, efficiently, and effectively to transportation incidents/accidents.
