66--Oil & Gas CoE_IRA Funded_3D Rock Core Imager
The DOE National Energy Technology Laboratory is conducting market research to identify contractors capable of providing a cryogen-free superconducting variable-field MRI Rock Core 3D Imager with software for subsurface rock analysis. The system must enable multi-nuclei measurements (including hydrogen, carbon, lithium, sodium, and fluorine), high-resolution 3D imaging, and non-destructive analysis of core plugs to determine reservoir properties such as capillary pressure, porosity, wettability, and permeability. This is a Sources Sought Notice for planning purposes only—no contract will be awarded and no costs will be reimbursed. Interested parties must submit a cover page and a statement of capabilities addressing the specified technical requirements. The information gathered will inform the government's determination of the business type for a future RFQ.
