Purpose Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL) is requesting information from offshore wind (OSW) stakeholders on the uses and capabilities for an instrumentation test buoy that may be procured by the Department of Energy (DOE), Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE), Wind Energy Technologies Office (WETO). The information gained from this request for information (RFI) may inform the specification and eventual procurement of a test buoy, should WETO decide to proceed with a procurement. The primary purpose for the buoy would be to test and validate new measurement and monitoring technologies that may be developed by DOE or other entities to support OSW site characterization and research. Responses to this RFI do not bind PNNL or DOE to any further actions related to this topic. See the attachment for further information.
