The objective of this requirement for a study is to estimate the design and cost of setting up and operating a large- scale plant in the United States to produce LIB using LFP and LFMP cathode active materials. Estimates for three plant sizes should be provided for 5, 25, and 50 GWh per year capacity plants. This work is expected to provide Argonne with a design of the physical and chemical processing steps necessary in the production of cells using LFP and LMFP cathode materials.
