This is not a solicitation. Vendors shall not submit a quote until, and/or if, the solicitation is posted to the Governmentwide Point-of-Entry via www.SAM.gov. This announcement shall NOT be construed as a commitment by Brookhaven Science Associates LLC (BSA) to award a Subcontract. Brookhaven National Laboratory (BNL) reserves the right to use any and all information submitted by, or obtained from, an interested party in any manner BNL determines is appropriate, including, but not limited to, the creation of a competitive solicitation. Background: BNL is a Department of Energy (DOE) National Laboratory multidisciplinary research facility, located on Long Island, New York. BNL intends to compete, full and open, for the fabrication of silicon substrates to BNL specifications and will be utilized within the United States. Need: BNL has the following requirements: Please see attached DRAFT Statement of Work (SOW) for additional needs. While the draft SOW is for six (6) substrates, BNL has identified a potential need for 18 flat mirrors and 18 spherical mirrors over the next three years. The specifications for these additional mirrors will not be exactly as those required for this immediate effort, but will have minor changes in tolerances. BNL expects to make one (1) award for the six (6) substrates requested in the draft SOW and the awardee will also be awarded the subsequent mirrors identified above over the next three years. The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 327211, Flat Glass Manufacturing, and the applicable PSC is 9340, Glass Fabricated Materials. Interested parties must be registered under the NAICS code in the System for Award Management (SAM) prior to submitting their quotes. BNL intends to issue solicitation RFQ-452273 in support of this requirement. The anticipated award contract type is a Firm Fixed Price contract. BNL anticipates the award date to be on or around 11/15/2024. Delivery Date: BNL requests delivery to be roughly 7-8 weeks after receipt of order. Attachment(s): DRAFT – SOW
