NSLS-II is a synchrotron light source with a highly optimized 3GeV electron storage ring, full-energy injector, experimental beamlines and optics, and appropriate support equipment. The storage ring contains two superconducting (SC) radio frequency (RF) sections that replace the energy lost by the electrons during their circulation. These two SC RF sections require cooling by liquid helium (LHe) supplied from an independent cryogenic system, which consists of a helium refrigerator/liquefier (Cold Box), storage Dewar, and distribution to the SC RF sections. The cryogenic system is being upgraded to include a 2nd Cold Box and a 2nd Dewar. This new equipment will require new cryogenic transfer lines to interconnect with the existing plant. BSA invites you to participate in accordance with the RFQ letter and all supporting enclosures. This requirement has been posted on the sam.gov website under Request for Quotation (RFQ) 433831. This is not a solicitation. Vendors shall not submit a quote until, and/or if, the solicitation is posted to the Governmentwide Point-of-Entry via www.SAM.gov. This announcement shall NOT be construed as a commitment by Brookhaven Science Associates LLC (BSA) to award a Subcontract. Brookhaven National Laboratory (BNL) reserves the right to use any and all information submitted by, or obtained from, an interested party in any manner BNL determines is appropriate, including, but not limited to, the creation of a solicitation. Background: BNL is a Department of Energy (DOE) National Laboratory multidisciplinary research facility, located on Long Island, New York.
