The Center for Functional Nanomaterials (CFN) is a user-oriented research center whose mission is to be an open facility for the nanoscience research community and advance the science of nanomaterials that addresses the nations’ energy challenge. Research at CFN focuses on the development and application of advanced techniques to understand structure-processing-property relationships in functional nanomaterials. New and unique capabilities would enrich both internal research and our User program. BSA is planning the procurement of a dual ion beam sputtering system for the Center for Integrated Nanotechnologies (CINT) at Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL). The dual ion beam sputtering system will be procured by Brookhaven Science Associates (BSA) on behalf of the CINT as part of the Nanoscale Science Research Center Recapitalization (NSRC-Recap) project. The sputtering system, hereafter referred to as "Instrument", shall be designed to provide an optimum combination of capabilities for precision deposition of high purity and high compositional control of nanoengineered thin films including quantum research materials as required. BSA invites you to participate in accordance with the RFP letter and all supporting enclosures. This requirement has been posted on the sam.gov website under Request for Proposals (RFP) 426033. Any questions concerning this RFP must be addressed via email to the attention of Maile Nichols at mnichols@bnl.gov. Amendment 1 to RFP 426033 is issued to incorporate the following changes: Provide all potential offerors with answers to questions received in response to the solicitation (see uploaded document entitled, "7. RFP 426033 Amendment 1 - QA"); Provide RFP Letter Revision 1 with updated evaluation criteria (see uploaded document entitled, "1. RFP 426033, DIBS Rev. 1); Provide an updated version of Enclosure 1 which includes "Technical Specifications for a Dual Ion Beam Sputtering System" Revision 2, dated 06/12/2023, which replaces Revision 1 of the aforementioned document (see uploaded document entitled, "2. Enclosure 1 - 426033 DIBS Contract with all attachments (Updated 20230614)"); and, Extend the proposal due date to 5:00 PM ET on 06/28/2023. The remainder of the solicitation remains unchanged.
