The Contractor is required to provide one Faraday Cup/Beam Dump that meets the requirements of BNL Technical Specification EIC-MEG-SPC-004 and this SOW. The contractor is responsible for the mechanical design of the Faraday Cup/Beam Dump as specified in Section 3 of BNL Technical Specification EIC-MEG-SPC-004. It is the Contractor’s responsibility to determine the method of manufacturing to meet the requirements of this SOW, and the specification. Amendment No. 1 dated 3/2/2023 to Request for Proposal No. 423634 incorporating clarification questions and answers shall be incorporated into and become part of this soliciatation by reference. Amendment No. 2 dated 4/18/2023 to Request for Proposal No. 423634 - Best and Final Offer is being issued to amend the following (see attached AMendment 2). 1. Extend the Proposal due date through April 26, 2023, 4:00PM EST. 2. The following beam parameters shall be incorporated into RFP No. 423634 by reference. Following are the range of different beam parameter as it is entering faraday cup: R sigma = 1.2 mm to 3.5 mm Emittance = 30 um to 37 um Alpha (Courant Snyder) = 0.3 to -9 Beta (Courant Snyder) = 8.36e-2 to 1.4 Use the above to estimate the highest power density that might need to be absorbed. 3. This RFP shall be amended to include the Faraday Cup as an option which should be priced separately. BSA has the option to unilaterally exercise any or all of Option 1 as described below. Option 1- Faraday Cup If BSA exercises its unilateral right to exercise Options 1, such rights will be exercised by: Option 1 – Upon award of initial subcontract. All other terms, conditions, and provisions of this RFP shall remain unchanged. Amendment No. 3 dated 4/27/2023 to Request for Proposal No. 423634 shall extend the proposal due date through Monday, May 1, 2023, 4:00PM EST. Amendment No. 4 dated 4/28/2023 to Request for Proposal No. 423634 shall extend the proposal due date through Wednesday, May 3, 2023, 4:00PM EST.
