The Advanced Photon Source Upgrade Project (APS-U) is planning a storage-ring upgrade that will reduce the electron-beam emittance by a factor of ~75. This ultralow emittance is achieved by replacing the present storage ring lattice with a multibend achromat (MBA) lattice. The MBA lattice will increase the x-ray coherent fraction by two orders of magnitude and decrease the horizontal source size by a factor of ~20. In addition, the APS-U is planning to build eight new featured beamlines and make optics upgrades to many others. One of the APS-U feature beamlines (34-ID) will conduct studies either using pink beam (PB) or monochromatic beam (MB) using two separate undulator branches on a canted sector of the APS-U. These beamlines are the Atomic beamline for coherent imaging and the 3DMN beamline for micro/nano Laue diffraction microscopy. A key component for conditioning the beam upstream of the sample is the pink/monochromatic beam slits. There are one such component in each branch of the 34-ID beamline. This is a request for a proposal that specifies the design, manufacture, test, and delivery of the slit’s assemblies, external stages, and support tables.
