The pulsed septum magnet for the Advanced Photon Source Upgrade (APS-U) Project will steer an injected 6 GeV electron beam into the stored beam of the Storage Ring (SR). The magnet creates a high magnetic field in the injection chamber for a short period of time while maintaining negligible field in the adjacent stored beam chamber. The pulsed septum magnet merges the injected beam into the stored beam with minimal impact to the trajectory of the stored beam.
