The National Synchrotron Light Source II (NSLS II) at Brookhaven National Lab (BNL) is a third generation medium energy storage ring of 3 GeV with a sub-nm-rad horizontal emittance and top-off capability at 500 mA, designed to deliver extremely intense photon beams on a wide spectral range, from the far infrared to the very hard X-ray region. The Angle Resolved Photoemission Spectroscopy (ARPES) endstation is one of two endstations operating at the NSLS-II Electron Spectro Microscopy (ESM) beamline, a soft X-ray beamline. The closed cycle liquid helium recirculation system and cryostat described in this document, hereafter referred to as “the Equipment,” will be used as a vital part of the beamline ensuring that the end station meets the requirements of the scientific experiments to be performed. The contractor shall be responsible for the design, assembly, test, and delivery of the Equipmenty, as outlined in the Statement of Work and Specification.
