While the draft RFP package has been included with this post, the RFP has not been released. Interested vendors should express their interest on the SAM.GOV posting interested Vendors List, or by emailing the Procurement Specialist for this project. Potential bidders will need to meet all the necessary criteria outlined in Section L of the draft RFP. A partial list of the criteria required include the following: Neither the Offeror’s firm, nor any of its owners or officers have been convicted of a crime involving the awarding of the contract of a government (U.S. Federal, State, and City) construction project, or the bidding or performance of a government contract. Offeror shall have a local presence in the San Francisco Bay Area established a minimum of three years. Offeror shall have experience working at Department of Energy (DOE) and/or Department of Defense (DOD) Facilities. PURPOSE: SLAC’s Design and Construction Services (DCS) project team is seeking services at the SLAC National Laboratory at 2575 Sand Hill Rd., Menlo Park, California to partner with and act as an experienced and knowledgeable contractor. The contractor is expected to perform the work in accordance with industry standards and provide materials and workmanship of the first quality. The work outlined in the Scope of work will need to take place during a scheduled downtime. The target downtime will be the summer downtime (August 2023/September 2023). The project must be completed no later than 9/18/2023. BACKGROUND: The goal is to install 2 fin-tube electric resistance heaters in the Air Handling Unit -1 (AHU1) at the Sector 20 Laser building due to the existing boiler supporting the laser building reaching its maximum operating capacity. This project includes all labor and material for the installation of the government-furnished electric heater. The work will need to meet the requirements to obtain a UL certification. All aspects of this project are outlined in the Scope of work, including mechanical, HVAC, electrical, instrumentation and controls requirements.
